How we solve wastewater pre-treatment challenges

From the site survey to compliant discharge: a structured process, and a proven solution for every pre-treatment challenge.

Wastewater pre-treatment is not an off-the-shelf product. Every plant, institutional kitchen, dairy farm or treatment works has different wastewater: composition, flow rate, peak loads, and what the water utility and the business licence require of you. So we do not start with the equipment. We start on site, with a survey, measurements and an understanding of the constraints, and only then choose the solution.

For over 20 years we have designed, installed and maintained pre-treatment systems nationwide: grease and oil separators, screens and filters, DAF units, pH control, oil skimmers and sludge thickeners. This page shows how we work, and which proven solution we have for each common challenge.

How we work

The same process on every project: first understand your wastewater, then choose the equipment. That way the solution fits the reality on site, not the other way round.

  1. Site survey

A wastewater engineer visits you, goes over the wastewater infrastructure, discharge and sampling points, and checks what the water utility and your business licence require. After the first visit you have a clear picture: what is out of range, why, and what is urgent.

What you getA survey report with the current state and priorities

  2. Diagnosis and design

Based on the survey we calculate the required separator volume, check that the infrastructure is suitable and design the wastewater system. Where required, we write the technical submission for the utility.

What you getA technical submission and a system plan

  3. Choosing the technology

Each kind of wastewater has its tool: a grease separator, a channel or drum screen, a DAF unit, pH control, an oil skimmer or a sludge thickener. We choose by composition, flow and peak loads, and work with leading European manufacturers.

What you getA proposed solution with an equipment specification and schedule

  4. Supply, installation and commissioning

Our installation team, with dozens of installations across the country, installs and connects the system, commissions it and trains your staff in day-to-day operation.

What you getA working system and a team that knows how to run it

  5. Verifying the values

After commissioning we sample and test: total oils and grease, TSS, BOD and COD, pH. We compare against the utility requirements and adjust until the values are within limits.

What you getDischarge values within limits, documented

  6. Ongoing maintenance and continued compliance

Monthly nationwide service: bio-augmentation treatment of grease separators (a method approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection) that extends the interval between pump-outs, maintenance of control systems, chemical supply, and handling of deviations as soon as they appear.

What you getFewer pump-outs, fewer deviations, and peace of mind with the utility

Every challenge has a proven solution

The challenges we meet most often, the solution we apply, and where it already works.

Grease and oil in kitchen and food wastewater

Restaurants, institutional kitchens and food plants discharge grease that blocks pipes, causes odours and fails sampling.

Grease separators with biological maintenance

Design and volume calculation, installation of the right separator, and a monthly bio-augmentation service that breaks down the grease in place and extends the interval between pump-outs.

HaEmek Medical Center – installation of an ACO grease separator. The treatment method is approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

Floating oil in process water

Machining, metal, cosmetics and food: a layer of oil on the water damages equipment and wastewater values.

Oil skimmers

A skimmer that continuously collects the floating oil from the tank or pit before it reaches the wastewater system.

Bazan (Oil Refineries) – supply of an oil skimmer for oil removal.

pH out of range

The water and sewerage utility rules prohibit discharging wastewater with a pH below 6 or above 10. One deviation in a field test is enough for a fine.

pH control and balancing systems

An advanced controller with proportional dosing, remote control, alerts and data logging, including supply of the balancing chemicals and nationwide maintenance.

pH and conductivity control systems installed and maintained by us at plants across the country.

Solids, wipes and coarse debris in the flow

Solids that reach pumps and floats cause breakdowns, flooding and high maintenance costs.

Screening at the source

Channel, drum and Archimedes screens and mechanical bar screens from a leading European group, with a speciality in screening wipes. Removing the solids at the source protects everything downstream.

Nir Etzion treatment works – supply and replacement of an inclined mechanical bar screen. Kibbutz Grofit – effluent pumping and screening system.

Suspended solids and organic load

Industrial wastewater with TSS, oils and organic matter that exceeds the limits even after primary separation.

DAF unit

Dissolved air flotation that removes oils, suspended solids and organic pollutants, with physico-chemical treatment where required.

Teva Ez dairy – supply of a 5 m³/h DAF unit.

Large sludge volumes and disposal costs

Wet sludge hauled at full volume is expensive and needs frequent pump-outs.

Sludge thickeners

Disc filters and separation and dewatering units that thicken the sludge with high energy efficiency and reduce the volume for disposal.

Fandango – sludge thickening unit.

Dairy-farm wastewater

A mix of solids, organic matter and varying flow loads, with strict discharge requirements.

A complete dairy-farm wastewater system

Mechanical screening, anaerobic and aerobic settling ponds and a DAF unit for physico-chemical treatment, designed as one system with maintenance and support.

Yotvata dairy farm – a complete wastewater treatment system. Lotan dairy farm – system supply and ongoing maintenance.

Odours from wastewater systems and compactor rooms

An odour nuisance that reaches neighbours, staff and inspectors, and is not solved by spraying.

Odour neutralisation at the source

Treating the source of the odour rather than masking it: enzymatic and bacterial products and solutions tailored to each operating environment.

Odour neutralisation solutions installed at wastewater facilities and compactor rooms across the country.

Failed sampling and utility demands

You received a letter from the water utility, the business licence is conditional, and it is not clear what exactly to fix.

Survey, technical submission and measurement

A wastewater engineer diagnoses the source, writes the technical submission and plans the fix, including accurate gravimetric wastewater measurement where required.

Surveys and technical submissions approved by water and sewerage utilities across the country.

Your challenge is not on the list? Tell us what is out of range and what is required of you. We will come back with a proposal for a site survey.
